  </Note>;

The Discovery capability is designed to help represent business processes with no effort. It observes a user's workflow, takes notes, and engages in a conversational interview to gather information. Its main purpose is to facilitate the creation and maintenance of processes as they exist today — similar to an always up-to-date standard operating procedure (SOP).

There are three modes of discovery to help you observe and represent your current state:

* **Companion**
* **AI Interviewer**
* **Direct video or document upload**

## AI Interviewer

* **Session configuration:** Select the process, choose an output template, and specify the storage location. If assigned by an admin, this is configured automatically.
  * **Observation mode:** Watches your screen and actions, taking notes.
  * **Guided conversation mode:** Asks questions about process details, pain points, exceptions, and automation opportunities.
* **Process documentation:** Structures information into comprehensive documents (objectives, scope, pain points, risk analysis).

## Key features

* **Progress tracking:** Visual progress bar (64% to 100%).
* **Session controls:** "Just observe me," screen-sharing controls, microphone toggles, pause, and end session.
* **Structured Q\&A:** Prompts for nuances, exceptions, and automation vision.
* **Contextual summaries:** Consolidates objectives, stakeholders, systems, and data throughout the session.

## Data security

* Adherence to industry-standard data protection protocols.
* Secure session management with controlled access and encrypted storage.
* Purpose-limited data usage (documentation only).
* User controls: pause and end session anytime.
