# Advisor: analyze thousands of processes in minutes

## Overview

Klarity Advisor is an agentic analytical tool that lets you query and analyze information across your entire Process Index. Ask questions across thousands of captured processes and get instant, data-driven insights.

Advisor can analyze patterns across your process library, identify optimization opportunities, compare processes across teams or regions, find automation candidates, assess risk areas, and generate executive summaries of operational complexity.

## How it works

## Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

* Valid credentials and access to the Klarity application.
* Sufficient business process data captured and documented within the Process Index.
* The necessary role permissions to access and use the Advisor feature.

## How to use Advisor

### 1. Access Advisor and select Insights or Chat

* Click the **Advisor** tab in the left-hand navigation menu. Hover over **Chat** to see its tooltip: "Ask the advisor about anything, it has access to your whole workspace."
* Hover over **Insights** to view its tooltip: "Generate a detailed report scoped to the processes you select." Click **Insights** to select this analysis type.

### 2. Configure the process scope

* Click the button labeled **X Processes In-Scope** (e.g., "144 Processes In-Scope") to open the process selection modal.
* In the **Select Processes** modal, scroll through your index. Expand categories (like *Procurement* or *Financial Cycle*) to view and select sub-processes. If unsure, leave all processes selected for a broader analysis.

### 3. Type and submit your objective

* Locate the input field under the prompt "What insights are you looking for today?"
* Type a specific question. For example: *"How can I find 20% time savings across these processes? Don't include citations; include any assumptions or potential gaps."*
* Click the blue arrow to submit your query and begin the analysis.

### 4. File upload

Advisor also supports file uploads for additional context. See [Advisor file upload](/docs/user-docs/improve/advisor-file-upload) for supported formats and size limits.

### 5. Review the generated report

After you submit, the system generates a comprehensive report — typically in two to three minutes, depending on complexity and the number of processes in scope. Treat the report as a conversation: chat with Advisor to understand the supporting evidence, or ask for next steps like creating a future-state design.
