Overview

Klarity is an AI platform that helps you and your team capture your work, identify improvement opportunities, and create structured documentation of how work happens in minutes. This guide outlines how to document the reality of how your current-state processes work. Klarity supports three primary methods for generating process documentation:
  • Companion — a continuous capture method that lets you work as you normally do and updates multiple processes at the end of your session.
  • AI Interviewer (Analyst) — a real-time guided interview where Klarity’s AI observes and captures your process walkthrough.
  • Existing files — use pre-recorded videos (from Zoom, Teams, etc.) and existing documents (docx, pdf, xlsx) to generate documentation.

When to use each method

Best practices for recording

  • Record the entire activity start to finish.
  • Verbally explain what you’re doing and why.
  • Share your entire screen.
  • Discuss metrics and pain points.

Option 1: Continuous capture (Companion)

  1. Configure role profile: Enter your role and regular work details.
  2. Start session & share screen: Click Start Session and share your full screen.
  3. Work normally: Companion pieces together activities. Pause, mute, or resume anytime.
  4. Review activity timeline: Every 30 minutes, Companion produces an activity summary.
  5. End session & submit: Click End Session and update activities to the Process Index.
  6. Review report & signals: Review the summary and share signals.

Option 2: AI Interviewer

  1. Configure session: Allow mic, test audio, select output template.
  2. Start session & share screen: Share full screen or the relevant window.
  3. Record your session: Perform the process, explaining steps and decisions.
  4. End session & review: The AI may ask follow-ups. A document is generated and an email notification is sent.

Option 3: Existing file upload

  • Supported formats: docx, pdf, xlsx, mp4, wmv, webm
  • File limit: Max 5 files per process
  1. Upload files & configure: Drag and drop files, select a template, specify an output folder.
  2. Generate document: Click Run Operation. Output is ready in 5–10 minutes.

Reviewing outputs

  1. Access the generated output via the email link.
  2. Review for accuracy and completeness.
